SAM 0918Monday, March 27th

Silveira Book Drive: Bring your gently used books and CD music to school this week and drop off in the blue bin or plastic bags in front of the office. Help us support local libraries in Marin that are deeply lacking in funding.

Young Author's Fair Week begins with our Guest Reader's Day: We have local sheriffs, politicians, mayors, NFL Football players, Pacific Baseball players, Humane Society folks,  Fire department folks, Principals, Board members, and our Superintendent of our Dixie District in his last year here, Dr. Thomas Lohwasser, and many more who will be reading books and engaging our children. This all begins at 8:45am!

Walk Through California: 4th grade interactive Social Studies assembly! I really enjoyed the Walk Through U.S. History and certainly wish this was made available when I was in 5th grade. Students dress up, perform, and learn about California History!

Tuesday, March 28th

Young Author's Fair continues with Favorite Word of the Day: Teachers lead students through word discovery. Students select their favorite or most interesting word, write it, hang it, and share it throughout the day! Book Drive Continues in support of local libraries!

Special Guest Author: Grades 3-5, Penny Warner will be dropping by for a visit with our students! Great mystery writer! 8:30-10:00 in our MPR. She is not charging our school either. Very sweet community we have.

Talent Showcase 5800Wednesday, March 29th

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION EVENT: Please join us in the MPR for 30 minutes of appreciations, teacher/parent mingling, snacks, and a cute student video. We will be unveiling our Volunteer of the Year as well. We are ever grateful for the time you have given us, be it field trips, classroom time, talent shows, book clubs, committees, lunch, and so much more. There are never enough appreciations. The event begins at 12:45 in the MPR and concludes at 1:15 where you can pick up your children from school. We have full coverage in both yards so teachers can join us, which has always been challenging for us in the past.

PJ's and Parents: Parents and students come to school in PJ's and children read their newly authored books to families. Please be sure your child has someone visiting who he/she can read their book to. 8:15-8:45, Head straight to classrooms. Come early for a parking spot and remember, please do not to park in our drop off circle or surrounding neighborhood driveways. Great shots for the Memory Book! Book Drive continues in support of local libraries!

Thursday, March 30th

Poem in a Pocket Day: Students create their own poems or find ones they have an interest in, write them down, bring them to school, and share them with anyone and everyone who will listen. I always love this day as children get to express themselves in the most clever and creative of ways! Encourage your children to write them ahead of time this week. Book Drive continues in support of local libraries!

Friday, March 31st

Welcome our Principal of the Day, Sophia Roeck! She will be running our school until lunch and will be visiting classrooms!

Special Guest Author: Jonathan London will be joining grades K-5 throughout the morning. Here is a Link to his wesbite and below are the times. You are more than welcome to join us in the MPR and listen in at any of the times listed!

K-1: 8:30-9:00, 2-3: 9:15-9:45, and 4-5: 10:30-11:00
